Fix Chrome Launcher is a dedicated Windows service designed to keep Google Chrome from resetting custom launch options. Therefore, you no longer need to re-do all custom settings everything the browser does an update.

The idea behind the tool came as the developer noticed that Chrome resets any custom settings following updates. More precisely, he is using incognito mode and assumed that inserting an “--incognito” command to Chrome's specific Windows registry ensures that he can use the hidden mode every time he accessed a link. Apparently, this does not actually work and he ended up using regular Chrome to open random links following updates.

The Windows service provided here has the role of attaching itself to the Chrome string and can restore it every time the updates make any sort of changes. In its default mode, the service is configured to check for any changes every one minute. However, depending on your needs and preferences, the value can be overridden with a more suitable interval. On a side note, the values are stored in JSON format and hence, can be edited via a specialized editor.

According to the developer, you need to use a command line with elevated privileges to install and uninstall it, since it is a Windows service after all. However, you can use a standard console to start and stop the service. Based on his testing, the developer highlighted that a Local System account is more than enough to toggle the Fix Chrome Launcher on and off.
